Day 89: the g o a l

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10

May my heart and yours seek to please God and God alone. May we recognize the difference by the illumination of the Lord Jesus Christ. May we remember that He Knows Our Names and He sees us. One day He will be the one to say, “Well done good and faithful SERVANT.” Lord Jesus, strengthen our hearts.

Day 51: DONOVAN

Today, I was reminded of a boy I used to teach several years ago. An announcement was made and I heard the name DONOVAN. Immediately  his face spring up in my mind.  I remembered him as a little boy and also as a pre-teen since he was my student TWICE for different grades.

I had a meeting after work at the District’s High School. As I walked in, I was taken by the growing number of alumni turned military as more wall space has been utilized to hang pictures of these young men and women. I am drawn to the wall. I gaze upon the faces and whose face do I behold immediately? You guessed it: DONOVAN. Coincidence? I don’t believe in those.

Has anything like this ever happened to you? I bet the answer is YES. Just a coincidence? NO WAY.

When God places a person on our hearts, we pray. We simply have a conversation with God about it. Lord, why is he on my heart? Is he okay? How can I join You in prayer for Him? Does he know You?

Never stop praying. 1 Thessalonians 5:17

I remember him to be such a sweet and kind young child. As he got older, he was a bit of a follower….not as sweet or joy-filled. In the military, well, who knows what he has been assigned to. Lord, is he safe? Is he in trouble?

Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died–more than that, who was raised to life–is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Romans 8:34

If you would like to join in prayer for DONOVAN, please do.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I bless DONOVAN. I ask that You would reveal Yourself in a mighty way to DONOVAN. I pray that You would protect Him and give Your angels charge over him. I pray that Your joy would fill him up to overflowing. I pray that You would heal Him in every way. I pray most of all that He would know just how much You love him and he would receive that love deeply into the very depths of his heart. I ask You Lord that if You have a more specific prayer for DONOVAN, You would place it in our hearts that we may loose it into the atmosphere. Touch Him mightily Lord. He needs You! Let Your Kingdom come in DONOVAN’s life. May DONOVAN experience all that You have for Him. May he realize that You know His name! Thank You Jesus. Name above all names!
