I need a shot of joy! I bet you do too. A rushing flow of real JOY overtaking every nook and cranny of our souls!!!! Cascading into pools from the overflow….puddles to dance in!!! Spilling over and washing away everything that comes against us with a mighty force!
Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
May my heart and yours dance before the Lord today and rejoice in HIM!!! May we be blessed to be a blessing!!
May we remember YOU today Jesus and rejoice!
Some days are sweet.
Some are sticky.
Some are sticky sweet. Some are sweetly sticky. Being stuck to sweetness is not a bad thing. In fact, it is quite good. Sweetness brings joy and laughter. Sticking with sweetness is notably delicious.
But sticky with out the sweet can just be downright stuck. Ugh, for instance, undetected gum stuck under a table. Disgusting! Gone is it’s sweetness and there it remains. Useless, unseen, and stuck. No one wants it. It has simply lost it’s flavor. It is used up with no hope of restoration. Gone. It’s sweetness was momentary. Fleeting. And it is stuck. Hopeless! There to do nothing more than gross out the poor unsuspecting person who trusts their table’s underside. Has that person ever been you? Oh the slime!
Are we sticking to sweetness? Have we lost our flavor? Is there hope of restoration?
The Word of God says, “How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.” Psalm 119:103
“When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, O LORD God Almighty.” Jeremiah 15:16
The Word of God speaks of the sweetness of the WORD. Partaking in it is deliciousness. “Sweeter than honey”. Sticky sweet! When the Word is consumed, it brings forth joy and the delight of our hearts. Sweetly sticky! The Words are in there. Swallowed, digested, and chewed. They bring forth LIFE. LIFE. LIFE. And the sweetness sticks. But we must eat of it. Any other source will leave us tasteless and flavorless. Not so with God’s Word. We must ” taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!.” Psalm 34:8
May the sweetness of the LORD Jesus Christ stick to me and to you like honey. May we remain stuck to His sweetness.
