Day 95: auto immune dis-ease

DIS-EASE. When I first heard the word broken down like THAT, it made SO MUCH sense. It is the opposite of EASE. It is DIFFICULT. It presents problems and challenges and removes EASE.

DIS-EASE. DIS-STRESS. DIS-INGENIOUS. DIS-TURBED. DIS-LIKED. DIS-APPEARED. DIS-PLAY.

It is interesting that all of these “DIS’s” do not function the same way. However, an interesting sentence can be constructed here:

Disease causes distress. When it is displayed it is disturbing. I will not be disingenuous when I write that disease is disliked.

In the case of AUTO IMMUNE DISEASE, we are creating antibodies that DISLIKE our own bodies and target them to DESTROY them. DIS-TURBED? Me too.

I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto disease. This is an autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid.(check out Gena Lee Nolin’s website: Thyroidsexy.com for more info.). It is frequently undiagnosed or misdiagnosed and being diagnosed has been eye-opening to me. I have struggled a lot with my emotional health and mood swings. It seems that this is part of the disease. Auto immune disease leaves me to believe that DIS-EASE leads to disease. I would imagine ESPECIALLY in the case of Auto immune disease.

DISTRESS leads to DISEASE? Do you agree?

Father, what is causing us DIS-EASE, whether it manifests physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually….What is the cause? Show us what it means to be at EASE….relaxed……Oh Lord, may we learn to rest in YOU!!! May we know true and complete healing from the healer HIMSELF. We ask for HEAVENLY WISDOM to lead us to answers we’ve longed for. Help us to be willing to make right choices in what and how we think, speak, eat and move. IN YOUR NAME JESUS!!! JESUS YOU ARE OUR EASE!!!!!

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

Day 94: What makes you glad?

WHAT MAKES YOU GLAD? You know, happy-joyful-smiling-content…..what is that?

This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it. psalm 118:24

Can we stop and think about those words?

THIS IS THE DAY

THE LORD MADE THIS DAY

WE WILL REJOICE IN IT

WE WILL BE GLAD IN IT

Next question: Will we? Why?

Do you agree with those words?

When we look around and see what is going on in the world, or in our lives with all the obstacles that seem to be in the way of OUR GLADNESS…..how can we?

May my heart and yours have new eyes to see this day. May we see all YOU have done for us. May we be happy that YOU made a day for us today. May we rejoice that we can choose YOU and RECEIVE the LIFE YOU DIED TO GIVE US. NEW LIFE. RESURRECTION LIFE. FREEDOM FROM SIN AND DEATH>>>>>oh YES, WHO MADE THIS DAY? THANK YOU JESUS. May we see what this day REALLY looks like.

Day 93: boasting

Ya’ know, boasting is an interesting pastime, don’t you think? Have you ever participated? I have!

Here is the definition of boast as determined by dictionary.com: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/boast

What are you and I boasting about? It is usually something having to do with ourselves, isn’t it? How much money we make….how smart we are……how talented we are…….how compassionate we are………how good we are……….how BAD we are……….

You name it! It’s there for the boasting. When we boast, what are we trying to accomplish?

WORTH?

IMPORTANCE?

SUPERIORITY?

ACCEPTANCE?

JUSTIFICATION?

I wonder if you have had the same experience I have…..that when you boast, you eventually realize that there is something not quite right. Your theory about yourself is somehow squashed. We are somehow, wrong and we think WAY TOO HIGHLY of ourselves and not HIGH enough when it comes to JESUS and others: Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem the other better than himself. Philippians 2:3

But there is only ONE that deserves boasting and that is Jesus Christ. Through HIM and HIM ALONE do we find our real worth, our soul importance, our PLACE, our acceptance, and our justification. Through HIM we find the LOVE we so desperately try to create for ourselves.

…even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;…Romans 3:22-24

but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the LORD. Jeremiah 9:24

Great-God-Jesus-Christ

Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:31

jesus-wallpapers-0113

…so as to preach the gospel even to the regions beyond you, and not to boast in what has been accomplished in the sphere of another. But HE WHO BOASTS IS TO BOAST IN THE LORD. For it is not he who commends himself that is approved, but he whom the Lord commends. 2 Corinthians 10: 16-18

May my heart and yours conclude moment by moment the TRUTH: There is none like YOU LORD JESUS! May we see ourselves as we truly are and not who we think we are or think we need to be. May we truly look at the plank in our own eye and not the speck in our brothers. May our LIVES seek LOVE from our Father in heaven that we may be filled up and poured out on others. May we boast in YOU LORD!!!! Thank You Jesus. For only YOU CAN DO THIS IN OUR HEARTS. Make us willing LORD.

Day 92: let it goooooooo

“Let it gooooo…..”. Those familiar words from friends, family, bosses, co-workers, spouses, books (Karen Ehman wrote a REALLY good one btw  Let It Go by Karen Ehman ) and Disney, of course 🙂  (ask a kid!)

What are you and I holding onto? How does it make us feel when someone advises us to “Let It Go”? Are we anxious to heed that advice or does it somehow repulse us? If it is advisable for us to get rid of it, why do we often insist on keeping it and usually holding onto it TIGHTLY?

LET IT GO

May my heart and yours receive God’s prompting to open up our hands with the stuff we are holding onto. May we make a decision to receive ALL of what God has for us with open hands.  May we seek the truth about what IT is and why we hold IT so tightly and how to let IT go. May we fully surrender to the will of the One who loves us and gave his LIFE for us that we may LIVE and LIVE it to the fullest. Thank you Jesus.

Day 91: BWAHAHAHA

Ever feel down and out? I have. I think we ALL have. God is SO GOOD. Leave it to Him to give us the remedy for dry bones and broken spirits:

L A U G H T E R

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength. Proverbs 17:22 (NLT)

Isn’t that GREAT! The God of all creation has given us the gift of laughter  and cheer as GOOD MEDICINE!!!!!!!!!

GOOD MEDICINE!!!!! side effects? Check out some of these:

May my heart and yours find ways to LAUGH every day!!! May we ingest the LORD’s medicine and receive the benefits He designed for us. May we find that He has all we have need of!  Thank You Jesus!!!!

Day 90: It’s getting colder…brrrrrrr

Fall is here and after some beautiful weather, it is now getting colder. There isn’t anything we can do about it. If you live in a place with dramatic seasonal changes, well, you live in a place with dramatic seasonal changes. PERIOD.

We certainly can’t control the weather.  However, we can prepare for it. If we know ahead of time what is coming our way, it is wise to get ready.

Where and how do we get our information?

http://news.yahoo.com/farmers-almanac-predicts-another-nasty-winter-154326000.html

What are our needs?

How much time do we have?

Can we afford what we need?

How can we help others?

We simply HAVE to get ready or risk being taken over by the extreme weather.

ISN’T PREPARING FOR THE COLD WEATHER ALOT LIKE PREPARING OUR  HEARTS??????

And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. Matthew 24:12

If we take a hard look at what else is brewing around us, it is safe to say that LAWLESSNESS HAS INCREASED. The bible has told us it would. Are we ready? Will the love in my heart and yours grow cold?

Where and how do we get our information?

What are our needs?

How much time do we have?

Can we afford what we need?

How can we help others?

cozy fire

May our Father in Heaven continue to point your heart and mine to His Holy Fire, that our love would not grow cold. May we keep watch and prepare for the well-being of our hearts. May your heart and mine continually seek our Lord Jesus Christ and be informed by the Holy Spirit in conjunction with the Body of Christ. All in Your Name Jesus.

Day 89: the g o a l

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10

May my heart and yours seek to please God and God alone. May we recognize the difference by the illumination of the Lord Jesus Christ. May we remember that He Knows Our Names and He sees us. One day He will be the one to say, “Well done good and faithful SERVANT.” Lord Jesus, strengthen our hearts.

Day 88: Forever Life

What is it that you and I want to see out of our lives? What kind of legacy do we want to leave here on earth? How do we want to think about and treat ourselves and others? What treasures do we wish to store for ourselves in heaven?

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

I guess this all depends on what we are planting in our lives. There is no coincidence that God would use “sowing seed” as a way to describe how we are living. We did all have our “roots” in a Garden. We are Gardeners by nature, aren’t we? We are responsible for what is growing in our lives.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.  Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, FROM THE SPIRIT WILL REAP ETERNAL LIFE (FOREVER LIFE: emphasis mine). Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.  Galatians 6:7-10

We have fleshly desires, don’t we?

sexual immorality, jealousy, impurity, fits of anger, sensuality, rivalries, idolatry, dissensions, sorcery, divisions, enmity, envy, strife, drunkenness, orgies and things like these….there is something here for everyone, right?

We have Spirit desires too, right? THANKFULLY!!!!

LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, SELF-CONTROL, ahhhhhhhh, so much better!!!!

May you and I choose carefully what we plant each day…..each moment. May we seek to sow seeds of the Spirit that we would reap  FOREVER LIFE. ABUNDANT LIFE. THE LIFE JESUS DIED TO GIVE EACH ONE OF US. May we seek out the MASTER GARDENER for all we need. May you and I cast out our fleshly desires and see to it they do not take root in our lives. May we bless and not curse. Jesus, we cannot do this without YOU. THANK YOU LORD!!!!!
