Day 104: Day #2 The Walk In The Spirit Challenge

It’s Day #2 and it is CLEAR, CRYSTAL CLEAR that the word CHALLENGE stands for a SERIOUS CHALLENGE!!!!  The opposition to walking in the Spirit is THICK. Not only does the flesh cry out and constantly demand it’s own way, but also it is very evident that there IS an enemy!!

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.  1 Peter 5:8

I cannot even begin to describe the day I had. And shaken!  Sheesh I was shaken and stirred!!  My head was spinning and I didn’t know where to begin. THANK GOD FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST!!!!!

It is amazing how you can walk into a soaking prayer meeting feeling like the living dead believing lies and feeling beat down and despondent and leave the meeting fully ALIVE and receiving the peace and rest and LOVE that God has for us. HE LOVES ME AND HE LOVES YOU.  HE DIED THAT WE MAY HAVE ABUNDANT LIFE.

Life. Life. Life.

May we remember that IT IS ON. The battle. We are ALWAYS in the trenches. May you and I remember to put on the FULL ARMOR OF GOD. May you and I remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Ephesians 6:12  May we put on a garment of praise for  a spirit of heaviness and remember all the LORD has done for us, in us and through us as His vessels made for His glory! Thank you Jesus.

Day 103: Day #1 of the WALK IN THE SPIRIT challenge

I have an issue. I actually have a few. The issues I am referring to are PEOPLE.

I have issues with PEOPLE!!!!!

how about you?

I know that there is really nothing I can do about this outside of believing in God to answer my prayers and see me through.  I know I have a choice to make: choose to gratify the flesh or walk in the Spirit.

For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. Galatians 5:17

I choose to walk in the Spirit. What will you choose? If you are like me, human and broken, you know that choosing to walk in the Spirit is counterintuitive to our fallen nature. But to the new creation in Christ, walking in the Spirit is desired.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.…Galatians 5:22
So here is the challenge I am taking on. For 19 days, beginning on this day, March 17, 2015, I will be praying for these people and for myself. I lay down my will and my flesh and declare that I can’t change and neither can they apart from the transforming life of Jesus Christ inside.  I choose to walk in the Spirit and take time to let God’s love fill me.
Father, help me to accomplish this challenge ahead. Equip me with every word of life You would have me speak over myself and the people that disturb me in one way or another.  Help me to grow in letting go of continuously striving to gratify my fleshly desires and turn away from it and into Your merciful arms. Oh Lord may the people I pray for receive Your salvation and may the fruit of the Spirit ripen that we may all taste of it.  IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME.
